FSA director Huey Evans quits to head hedge fund unit

Gay Huey Evans, currently the Financial Services Authority’s (FSA) director of markets, is to leave the UK regulator to join hedge fund manager Tribeca Global Management, on September 1.

Citigroup's alternative investments arm, of which Tribeca is a subsidiary, said that Evans will take the role of president of Tribeca Global Management (Europe).

Huey Evans has worked at the UK regulator since 1998 and, in addition to being the FSA's capital markets sector leader, is currently chairman of the joint forum dealing with market, credit and operational risk.

Prior to this Evans was a managing director in the risk management services division at Bankers Trust, and chairperson of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (Isda) between 1994 and 1998.
