ABN Amro adds to global currency options team in Asia

Dutch bank ABN Amro has hired Clifford Bayne as an exotic options specialist in Asia, in a move to boost the bank's global currency options capabilities within its recently established financial markets business.

Based in Singapore, Bayne will work in the regional currency options trading desk alongside Terence Yiu, head of regional currency options. He will report to Douglas Bongartz-Renaud, global head of global foreign exchange options in Amsterdam.

Bayne joins the bank from Standard Chartered and has a background in exotic, non-vanilla options trading. He will support growing client demand in Asia for structured FX hedges and structured deposits in local markets currencies, said Bongartz-Renaud. “Cliff's appointment builds our overall currency options capability and meets rapidly increasing demands from Asian clients for exotic options,” he added.
