ABN and Rabobank unveil new hires

Rabobank International, the international arm of Dutch co-operative bank Rabobank, has made Rutger Schellens head of financial markets activities, including capital markets, treasury and investment books businesses.

Schellens joins from rival ABN Amro, where he was global head of corporate distribution. His responsibilities at ABN Amro included overseeing sales of global financial markets products, including interest rate derivatives, structured products and risk advisory services.

Based in New York, Schellens will join Rabobank on April 1.

Meanhwile, ABN Amro named Allan Zavarro head of global futures. He will run day-to-day execution and clearing of futures and options contracts on the major listed futures exchanges. Zavarro has been with the firm since the 1997 acquisition of Citicorp Futures Corporation, where he was president and chief executive.
