BNP Paribas loses head of insurance and pensions

Mark Azzopardi, London-based head of insurance and pensions at BNP Paribas, has left the bank for a role with asset manager AllianceBernstein.

Before joining the French bank, he headed up the actuarial team pricing financial contracts at Zurich Insurance in Switzerland.

Azzopardi is also chairman of the risk-linked securities committee at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, which focuses on the development of markets in insurance risk.

BNP Paribas would not comment on a possible replacement for him. A spokesman for AllianceBernstein said it did not comment publicly on employee matters.
