Tucker appointed deputy governor of Bank of England

Tucker currently serves as the bank's executive director of markets, a position he has held since June 2002. In this role, he is responsible for the bank's foreign exchange operations and implementation of monetary policy through open market operations. He is also responsible for supporting the bank's monetary and financial stability efforts with analysis and market intelligence. He has been with the Bank of England since 1980.

The appointment, which begins in March 2009, has a tenure of five years.
