The trick to going to Lever House for the first time is your entrance. You enter through a futuristic tube that might easily have come from the set of the new Star Wars movie. The tube gives you no sense of the space that lies beyond. And then you are in the space, visible to the powerful people eating inside and (more importantly) the maitre d’ who is quietly appraising you, your suit, your dining companion, your demeanor.
