CME to offer won trading

News

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and the Korean Ministry of Finance and Economy (Mofe) are to list Korean won futures and options later this year. The contracts will trade exclusively on the CME Globex e-trading platform.

CME chairman Terry Duffy said: "CME Korean won futures will provide global financial institutions, corporations and investors with a valuable tool to hedge fluctuations in the valuation of the Korean won."
