Nymex reshuffles board

Richard Schaeffer, executive director of global energy futures at Dutch bank ABN Amro, has been appointed vice- chairman of the board of the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex).

He will hold the post for just one year to fill the role of Mitchell Steinhause, the previous vice-chairman, who has been appointed chairman of the board but still has a year of his old term left to run.

Schaeffer has been treasurer of the exchange since 1993, an executive committee member since 1992 and a member of the board of directors since 1993.
