Marex Spectron picks Jeremy Elliott and Hunter Baldwin to replace Gordon Bennett, its global head of energy, who has left the broker after 12 years Gordon Bennett, Marex Spectron's managing director and global head of energy, has left the London-based commodity broker. It is not known where Bennett is headed. A London-based spokesman confirmed the departure to Energy Risk in an email, saying he had left the firm to pursue an opportunity elsewhere in the industry. Bennett is a 12-year veteran of Spectron, the over-the-counter energy broking arm of Oslo-based Imarex, which merged with London-based commodity broker Marex in 2011. Before the merger, he held various senior positions at Spectron, including group financial controller and managing director of Spectron North America. Prior to that, he worked as a senior manager in the energy, infrastructure and utilities division of Chicago-based accounting firm Arthur Andersen. Jeremy Elliott, London-based chief operating officer of energy at Marex Spectron, and Hunter Baldwin, the firm's New York-based managing director of North American operations, will take over Bennett's responsibilities as co-heads of energy, said the spokesman. Elliott joined the broker in September 2013, having previously worked as a commodities business manager at London-based rival Icap. Prior to that, he worked for LiquidityHub, a short-lived liquidity aggregation platform for fixed income products. Baldwin, meanwhile, has worked at Marex Spectron since July 2010. Before that, he worked in the US branch of Paris-based broker Newedge and at Deutsche Bank in Australia....
