Unexpected fees for new Micro-FIT program

Kitchener Hydro will charge FIT customers about $3,000 in NEW fees and service charges over the course of the contract. It seems they have decided to grab a share of the free government money intended for homeowners. I think this move will undermine the spirit of the program geared to individual homeowners.

Esma is required to write much of the technical standards for Emir by June 30 – but the regulation has only just been finalised, and the authority had just 75 full-time staff at the end of 2011 (www.risk.net/2142483). Will it meet the deadline? Should Esma be given more resources?
