Icelandic bank Landsbanki completed a $2.25 billion issue of Yankee bonds (i.e. dollar-denominated and issued in the US) in a major refinancing deal that attracted more than $3.9 billion in orders in late August. "The Landsbanki deal is the largest ever Yankee by a Nordic borrower," says Leo-Hendrick Greve, in the financial institutionsfixed-income capital markets team at Citigroup in London, which led the sale together with Bank of America and Deutsche Bank.
