US private placement market looks overseas

Non-US corporate borrowers are making increasing use of the US private placement market, accounting for half the debt issuance in the sector in the first six months of the year. According to Fitch Ratings, the increase has helped to drive an 88% increase in private placement volumes compared with the same period last year, bringing the total amount raised in the first half of the year to $21.3 billion.
