Tell us about yourself.

Satyajit Das: I'm Bengali and was born in Calcutta in India. My family emigrated to Australia in the 1970s. I trained as a lawyer and accountant and started work in 1977 with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. I then worked at a couple of US investment banks, on both the buy and sell sides. In 1994, I started my own consultancy. 'Traders, Guns and Money' is my first light-hearted book and is the opposite of what I normally write: textbooks; four-volume, 1,000-plus-page
