Investor profile: Credaris

Scott Dowle, chief technology officer at London-based credit hedge fund Credaris, talks to Credit about 50%-plus returns in a bear market and the kind of tech infrastructure the firm deploys to manage its CDO holdings.

Can you tell me a bit about Credaris?

Credaris was formed in 2003. It was established initially to manage a portfolio of structured credit assets for a large German bank. Since then the firm has developed to incorporate all aspects of asset management in mostly corporate structured credit investments. Our total assets under management stand at about EUR1.3 billion.

Is that mostly high-net-worth money or does Credaris manage institutional capital as well?

It's primarily institutional money.
