Lowe flies flag for greater integration

The drive towards a single European energy market should be accelerated and a strong, pan-European regulator ought to be placed at its centre, asserted Philip Lowe, the former director general for energy at the European Commission (EC), in a keynote speech to a conference in Brussels today.

Lowe served as director general of energy at the EC since February 2010, before being succeeded by Dominique Ristori on January 1 this year. Speaking during an event hosted by London-based law firm Bird & Bir
