Twenty years ago, it was just a few far-sighted individuals calling for people to stop using spray-on deodorants that release CFCs into the atmosphere. Now, environmental issues are near the top of the agenda for many people. It has become a major issue, and politicians are queuing up to show off their green credentials. Even the leaders of the US and Australia, both yet to ratify the Kyoto Agreement, have made positive noises about the need to tackle climate change.
