Getting accurate information more quickly than your rivals is crucial when it comes to successful trading. But in some corners of the global commodity markets, this is easier said than done.

In the past 18 months, New York-based news and information provider Thomson Reuters has expanded its Eikon trading platform in ways that help shine a better light on commodities. While both involve fundamental data, the developments relate to very different areas: Brazilian electricity and global agriculture
