New Year start for E.On Energy Trading

From January 2008, German utility EOn will combine all its European power, gas, coal, oil and carbon trading operations in the new business EOn Energy Trading (EET), headquartered in Düsseldorf.

Two appointments have completed EET’s board – that of Gareth Griffiths as chief commercial officer and Martyn Gallus as managing director, middle office. Griffiths and Gallus join Tony Cocker, CEO and Jonas Abrahamsson, chief financial officer, on the board.

Griffiths was most recently head of trading at Essent Trading, while Gallus moves to Europe from E.On subsidiary E.On US in Kentucky where he was senior vice president, energy marketing.
