Reuters has been at the heart of trading in the markets over the past 20 years. It is a leading data vendor, and more people have traded via its systems (for instance, Reuters 3000 Xtra, Kondor+ and FXMarketSpace) across more markets than any other vendor.

Its move into electronic foreign exchange trading in the late 1980s was the spur for the launch of its rival EBS (see page 72), with which it has competed vigorously ever since. It was among the first vendors to offer a trading system, Kondor+
