Die gegenwärtigen europäischen Versicherungsrichtlinien (Solvency I) mit ihren Vorschriften zum geforderten Kapital (Solvenzspanne) und zum verfügbaren Kapital werden durch Solvency II ersetzt. Ziel ist es, einen ökonomischen risikobezogenen Solvabilitätsrahmen für den europäischen Versicherungsmarkt zu schaffen. Dazu wird sich nicht nur die Berechnung der Kapitalanforderungen grundlegend ändern müssen, sondern es sind auch die zur Bedeckung dieser Kapitalanforderungen anrechnungsfähigen
