Eastern European stocks excel in illiquid markets

Polish and Russian stocks have performed well in the past few months for Eastern European hedge fund managers, but the number of stocks managers can play with remains quite limited, according to managers at London's Griffin Capital Management.

Yuli Stein, manager of the Griffin East European Value Fund, says Polish markets were relatively strong in May with macro-economic statistics 'indicating an acceleration in economic growth.'
