Equities: French market most at risk

Recent months have been quiet hedge funds in the equity markets, especially in comparison with the heady days of March and April. As a few fingers were burnt in the TMT bull run, most leveraged funds have been less likely to invest in the off-the-run technology sector.

However, funds are starting to take some short positions in the major European markets, as they look for the almost traditional autumn sell off. The market most at risk is the French, which has rose to record highs in September.
