Growth capacity faces constraints

There is more than enough capacity in Europe to handle twice as many hedge fund assets as are presently deployed, reckons the Alternative Investment Management Association.

High-net-worth individuals are increasing their holdings in alternative investments and the industry is rapidly growing. According to ABN Amro, Europe will see the most rapid growth in hedge funds. Around 15% of global hedge fund assets are based here, according to ABN, compared with 80% in the US.
