Indices' profile raised as pensions quantify risk



Investable hedge fund indices are a lynch-pin in the strategy to attract allocations from pension funds into hedge funds, according to an academic from the London Business School.


Bill Fung, visiting research professor at the London Business School, told the GAIM conference that indices based off hedge funds would become increasingly popular as pension funds sought to identify, quantify and benchmark risk factors of investing in hedged products.


'The key question for benchmarking hedge funds is
