Transparent case for derivatives

Transparency may be increasingly demanded of fund managers and prime brokers when it comes to most hedge fund investments, but at the first mention of the word "derivatives" a fog seems to descend. Despite most investors' bewilderment about derivatives, hedge funds remain some of the most prolific users of them, even though analysts expect a slight fall in business this year. Within the overall decline hedge funds' demand for over-the-counter, fixed-income derivatives has been relatively steady
