It has not been a happy ending to the year for most interdealer broking firms in Asia. Having seen volumes increase in the first half of 2011, the eurozone sovereign debt crisis has taken its toil on business over the past few months.

Banks across the globe – and particularly those in Europe – have been looking closely at their balance sheets, with some opting to pull back from certain business lines to focus on core markets
